Comenius Visit in Lithuania September 22 nd-26th

 

 

We all agreed: This was different and special ! We met a country and its people showing us a warmth and a hospitality which we never have experienced before.

We left Brønnøysund,Norway early on Monday morning and after 3 hours by bus from Vilnius airport we arrived in Pajuris,Silale. Although it was rather late at night, teachers and students were present to welcome us.

The days in Pajuris went much too fast. However ,we visited a world heritage area:The Hill of Crosses,museums,small villages and had wonderful lunches out side in the fields.

Our task in Lithuania was to plan and prepare for the last Comenius year and all students were given the opportunity to work in groups and present their results.Our Norwegian girls,Karoline and Maria were great representatives for their country and their school. We were so proud !

The weather was good throughout the week,but the day of good-byes there was rain in the air . As one of the Lithuanian teachers said: “When Angels leave,Heaven cries “ So true !

No words were spoken in the bus as we were leaving these wonderful people. They have given us something to think about.
